CELEBRATING CULTURES! PUPPETS, WATERCOLOR FLOWERS, SOCCERBALLS AND MURALS APRIL 17,18,21,24, 2025
Natcher Elementary 2nd grade class of Stefani Grace became Puppet makers and puppeteers during this project. They used colorful socks and googly eyes, pom poms, felt, fur, and fabric to make their puppets come to life. The students enjoyed learning from the artist, Kim Soule about the art of puppetry and about how to make the puppets talk and interact with puppets. During the 2nd session students watercolored a flower on watercolor paper using a vertical piece of paper and making personal choices about color and shape. During the 3rd session students began work on the murals of cultural costumes from Africa, America, Asia, Middle east and Mexico. During the 4th session students created a soccer ball using markers and telling about themselves in each space. They were so proud of the finished Murals!
