CELEBRATING CULTURES! PUPPETS, WATERCOLOR FLOWERS, SOCCERBALLS AND MURALS APRIL 17,18,21,24, 2025

Natcher Elementary 2nd grade class of Stefani Grace became Puppet makers and puppeteers during this project. They used colorful socks and googly eyes, pom poms, felt, fur, and fabric to make their puppets come to life. The students enjoyed learning from the artist, Kim Soule about the art of puppetry and about how to make the puppets talk and interact with puppets. During the 2nd session students watercolored a flower on watercolor paper using a vertical piece of paper and making personal choices about color and shape. During the 3rd session students began work on the murals of cultural costumes from Africa, America, Asia, Middle east and Mexico. During the 4th session students created a soccer ball using markers and telling about themselves in each space. They were so proud of the finished Murals!

MARVELOUS MIXED MEDIA! BOWLING GREEN JUNIOR HIGH APRIL 14-16, 2025

MARVELOUS MIXED MEDIA! was a perfect project for Bowling Green Junior High students for explore media and express their artistic voice through art. They used acrylic paint, collage and assemblage to create a unique piece of art. All students were successful at the 3 processes and enjoyed the creative process. It was my pleasure as the artist to work with Art Teacher Amanda Brown and her students! We also created a colorful mural to display with the artwork.

FISHY, FISHY, PAINTINGS AND MURALS! JENNINGS CREEK ELEMENTARY MARCH 25,26, 27, 2025

FISHY FISHY, PAINTINGS AND MURALS! Jennings Creek Art students had 2 sessions each of Fishy, Fishy. During the first session we drew fish on a long rectangular piece of paper and then traced the pencil lines with a black sharpie. The 2nd session with each group of students was to watercolor their fish projects and have a turn to paint the murals. The murals have pre painted black lines and are representations of the students work. Students learned valuable lessons about shape, color, composition, and the use of watercolors. They also loved the process of painting the murals and celebrating being Artists!!

SIDE BY SIDE - INCLUSION STYLE! PAINTING A SELF PORTRAIT WITH MIXED MEDIA MARCH 21, 2025

Jennifer Sims and I presented a workshop at the National Art Education Association National Convention in Louisville, KY. The participants were given a copy of the students artwork. The student art was created during an arts inclusion art award. The students selected to participate were all students with special needs. The participants all worked through the 3 processes the same as the students had done during the school project. The teachers who participated then donated the pieces back to be given to the students. Their work will become a part of a side by side virtual exhibition. Teachers who participated said that they loved the project and would be implementing similar type programs at their school.

"TEMPLE HILL CHIHULY CHANDELIER" ARTS INCLUSION ART AWARD MARCH 4,5,6, 2025

TEMPLE HILL ELEMENTARY CREATED A CHIHULY CHANDELIER DURING AN ARTS INCLUSION ART AWARD IN MARCH. Kim Soule, Artist led the students through a study of the artist, Dale Chihuly and the beautiful glass that he creates. Then the students recreated the look of glass by coloring clear water bottles with permenant sharpies and cutting the bottles in a spiral cut so that the artist and STEAM Teacher, Kay Drury could attach to a Chicken wire sculpture to create a chandelier.

"ART GIVES YOU WINGS" IS AN ARTS INCLUSION - SPECIAL INITIATIVE ART AWARD AT SIMPSON ELEMENTARY THAT TOOK PLACE ON FEBRUARY 24,25,26,27, 2025. Each student in a school of 730 created a feather by tracing a template, cutting out the feather and using black sharpie to add lines and designs then watercolor to paint the feather. Each feather was then added to the wings to create a beautiful interactive mural!
