GO! GO! GELLI PRINTS! CUMBERLAND TRACE ELEMENTARY MARCH 9, 10, 23, 30, 2023

"GO! GO! GELLI PRINTS!" was an awesome printmaking project for Cumberland Trace Elementary School students! The project was led by Artist, Kim Soule and Facilitated by Art Teacher, Amanda Brown. Students learned about and experienced several different printmaking processes. We started with Gelli Prints, then day 2 we did foam prints and day 3 we did collage using our extra gelli prints. One of the gelli prints from each student is included in a school wide art show. We also collaborated on a mural project to go along with the art show! The students learned so much and the whole project came together beautifully!

"RIDING THE WAVE!" AT SHACKLETTE ELEMENTARY FEBRUARY , AND MARCH 17, 2023

"RIDING THE WAVE AT SHACKLETTE!" was an arts inclusion art award that brought much joy to the children of Shacklette Elementary School! The Artist Kim Soule worked with Speech teachers/pathologists Dala Sparks and Sarah Akers in their classrooms and in the Special needs classrooms. Peer tutors and school leaders were also included in this project! The students drew a shark or a fish drawing on watercolor paper and then watercolored their drawings. The speech teachers chose 7 of those designs to be represented on murals throughout the school. The murals were drawn by the artist using the student work as inspiration and then the students all joined together in collaboration and painted the murals! The art and murals were displayed at the school for all to enjoy!!

Melisa Gano who is over the Arts for JCPS visited and helped paint a fishy mural! We also had a visit from the Principal who added some lovely dots!
